This Location is the start of our popular Main Attractions Tour – Washington DC Bus Tour . Here you will meet up with your Tour Guide and the rest of the group. Before entering the National Archives Building.
Our Tour Guide will take you inside to view the historical documents that tell the stories of America’s history as a nation and as a people. These valuable records are evidence of our national experience. You will also view exhibits of historical records and presidential papers: The Public Vaults and the Charters of Freedom, the Declaration of Independence, The US Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

Remember, you will meet your tour outside on the Pennsylvania Ave side of the National Archives Building (15 minutes prior).

US Capitol Building (Special Insider Tour at 9am and 2pm, Mon-Sat)

A Docent lead tour will begin with a 13-minute film, “Out of Many, One,” which will take you on a journey through our country’s struggle to establish the world’s first truly representative democracy and introduce you to the magnificent building that houses our Congress. Also inside the historic Capitol, you will see the Crypt, the Rotunda, and National Statuary Hall. Here our Tour Guide steps aside, takes a break and lets the Capitol Docent staff take over to provide you the most up-to-date insider stories as well as architectural and historical perspectives. This is by far the best stop of the Washington DC Bus tour!

Thomas Jefferson Memorial

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is a presidential memorial in Washington, D.C., dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, one of the most important of the American Founding Fathers as the main drafter and writer of The Declaration Of Independence.

The open-air, white columned structure shelters a 19-foot bronze statue of Jefferson,as well as various quotes on the walls of the Jefferson Memorial. One of the memorial’s most powerful sights can be found on the left side of the Jefferson statue taken directly from the Declaration of Independence:”We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal…” A great Washington DC Tour stop!

FDR Memorial

We will get out of the Washington DC Bus Tour shuttle to walk to the FDR Memorial is a presidential memorial in Washington D.C. dedicated to the memory of the 32nd U.S. President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and to the era he represents. Its four open-air rooms represent each of the four terms of office to which he was elected. A meandering pathway leads past waterfalls, bronze sculptures, and FDR’s own powerful words carved on the granite walls.

A statue of Roosevelt sitting in a wheelchair greets visitors and reminds them of the man who refused to let disability stop him.

Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial

We will get out of the Washington DC Tour bus, yet again, to walk to this newest monument. The center of this memorial is a 30-foot statue of Dr. King, featuring his likeness carved into the Stone of Hope, which emerges powerfully from two large boulders, known as the Mountain of Despair. Together, they represent soul-stirring words from Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Text from this speech is cut sharply into the rock of the Stone: “Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope.”

Lincoln Memorial

We will get out of the Washington DC Tour shuttle bus, with Tour Guide, as always — and go to the Lincoln Memorial is an American national monument built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. It houses a 19 foot statue of the man himself, looking out over the Mall inside of handsome marble columns surrounded by greenery, part of a design inspired by ancient Greek temples. There are 36 columns, each one representing one state in the U.S. at the time.

As you Step inside the monument to view the Statue of Lincoln, To the left of the statue is Lincoln’s great speech, the Gettysburg Address.

Korean War Veterans Memorial

Again, we will get out of the Washington DC Tour bus to go to this emotional Memorial. The memorial’s Mural Wall measures 164 feet long and eight inches thick, Images of troops moving by sea, land and air are sandblasted onto the surface of the wall, while a squadron of 19 stainless steel figures, including members from each branch of the armed forces, are situated in the center of the memorial space.

When you view the 19 stainless steel figures reflected onto the granite wall, there appears to be 38 soldiers, which represents the 38th parallel, the dividing line of North and South Korea during the conflict.

Vietnam Veterans Memorial

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a 2-acre national memorial in Washington, DC. It honors U.S. service members of the U.S. armed forces who fought in the Vietnam War.
When we get out of the Washington DC Tour bus you will see that It is divided into three separate parts: the Three Soldiers statue, the Vietnam Women’s Memorial and the well-known Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.

World War II Memorial

On our Washington DC Bus Tour, you will explore this breathtaking memorial with your guide, and view the Twenty-four bronze bas-relief panels that flank the ceremonial entrance. To many, these panels stir memories as they tell the story of America’s experience in the war. Granite columns representing each U.S. state and territory at the time of World War II ring an impressive pool with water shooting high into the air. Quotes, references to theaters, campaigns, and battles, and two massive victory pavilions chronicle the efforts Americans undertook to win the war. A wall of 4,048 gold stars reminds all of the price over 400,000 Americans paid to win that victory.

The White House (DC by Night Tour)

The north lawn is the President’s front yard. It has many old trees and other plantings, some of which date back nearly two hundred years.
President James Polk added a statue of Thomas Jefferson to the north lawn, which was later replaced by a circular fountain that you will see from Lafayette Park, as you get lots of great photos of the home of every sitting President since John Adams in 1800. A great Washington DC Bus Tour stop!
